CAMPGROUNDS ACROSS THE CAROLINAS ENTICE GUESTS WITH UNIQUE AMENITIES AND ACTIVITIES
Activities range from “ladies only” deep sea fishing trips to nature walks, beach cleanups and organized family activities and themed weekends. One campground offers pet-themed activities every weekend, including a “Woofstock” music event.
Are you looking for different kinds of experiences in the Great Outdoors this summer?
How about joining a “ladies only” deep sea fishing excursion? “They’re called Reels and Heels, and are always very fun,” said Irina Yashova, co-owner of Seahaven Marine RV Park in Sneads Ferry, N.C., adding that the trips are scheduled “on demand.”
“If there is a group of ladies who would like to charter it for ‘Heels and Reels,’ it can be done any time,” she said.
Seahaven Marine RV Park also offers a variety of other deep sea fishing excusions, including father-and-son trips, girls weekends out, bachelorette and bachelor parties, graduation celebrations and appreciation trips for work colleagues, parents and various groups.
Do you hear the mountains calling?
Consider using Linville Falls Campground as a base camp for visiting Linville Falls, which carries more water than any other waterfall along the Blue Ridge Parkway, or for checking out Linville Caverns, the only cave open to the public for tours in North Carolina.
Are you looking instead for organized family activities? Many campgrounds across North and South Carolina provide family activities.
“There is really so much families can do,” said Dee Witting, executive director of the Carolinas Association of RV Parks and Campgrounds.
“Visit CampingCarolinas.com and you can find campgrounds that offer every conceivable summer activity, such as hiking, swimming, fishing and river tubing, kayaking or canoeing. You can also find campgrounds with organized family activities, summer day camps and even nighttime kids activities so parents can enjoy a ‘date night’ on their own.”
